WANDO CROSS COUNTRY POSTS STRONG SHOWING AT CREATING WAVES 5K

Wando Cross Country turned in a strong performance in the Varsity 5K races on August 29 in Summerville, highlighted by an individual victory from freshman Charlotte Kellett and a runner-up finish from senior Ari Laurient.

Kellett won the Varsity Girls race with a time of 19:16.11, leading the Warriors to a second-place team finish with 57 points. Wando placed five runners in the top 20, including Sophia Lee (9th), Emily Giron Parada (11th), Anna Peace (16th), and Olivia Lee (20th).

On the boys side, Laurient finished second overall with an impressive time of 15:56.56. Wando finished eighth in the team standings, with Jacob Brokes, Tucker Turner, Drew Butler, and Grayson Staker joining Laurient as the Warriors’ scoring five.

It was a strong day on the course for Wando, led by two outstanding performances at the front of the field.
