WANDO CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT 2026 EYE OPENER

September 4–5, 2026 | Roger Milliken Center | Spartanburg, SC

Wando Cross Country competed against a large field at the 2026 Eye Opener in Spartanburg, with both the boys and girls taking on strong competition in the Varsity 5K.

On the girls side, senior Anna Cavallon led the Warriors with an 11th-place finish, running 19:20.40. Freshman Charlotte Kellett finished 47th in 20:36.60, while senior Sophia Lee ran 21:08.10. Emily Giron Parada and Olivia Lee completed Wando’s scoring five as the Warriors finished ninth overall with 352 points.

For the boys, senior Ari Laurient paced Wando, finishing 56th overall in 16:50.80. Zach Teachman, George Miars, Drew Butler and Tucker Turner rounded out the Warriors’ scoring five. Wando finished 35th in the team standings with 866 points in a deep varsity field.

The Eye Opener provided another early-season test for the Warriors as they continue through the 2026 cross country schedule.
