WANDO CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT MIKE MOORE CLASSIC

Wando Cross Country continued its 2026 season Saturday at the Mike Moore Classic, competing in the Varsity 5K at Saluda Shoals Park in Columbia.

The Wando girls turned in a strong fourth-place team finish, scoring 175 points. Senior Anna Cavallon led the Warriors with an impressive fifth-place finish, crossing the line in 18:33.20. Freshman Charlotte Kellett also earned a top-15 finish, placing 12th in 19:53.90. Olivia Lee, Reagan Smith and Veronica Lane completed Wando’s scoring five.

The Warriors finished tied with Blythewood at 175 points in the team standings, with Wando officially placing fourth.

On the boys side, Oliver Dietrich led Wando, finishing 82nd overall with a time of 18:57.90. Jacob Brokes followed in 19:06.70, while William Peart ran 19:23.20. Evan Whichard and Carson Blonshine rounded out Wando’s scoring five.

The Wando boys finished 17th overall with 461 points, continuing to gain valuable race experience as the Warriors move deeper into the 2026 season.
