WANDO FOOTBALL OPENS SEASON WITH 18-3 WIN OVER WEST ASHLEY

Wando Football opened the 2026 season with a strong road performance, defeating West Ashley 18-3 on Friday night. The victory moved the Warriors to 1-0 on the season.

The game was tied 3-3 at halftime before Wando took control in the second half. The Warriors leaned on their ground game, rushing for more than 200 yards while holding West Ashley without a touchdown.

Tyler Garner provided the offensive spark for Wando, rushing for 74 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries while also adding 21 receiving yards.

After a defensive battle in the opening half, Wando's ability to run the football and keep West Ashley out of the end zone proved to be the difference as the Warriors pulled away for the 18-3 season-opening victory.

Wando returns home next week to host May River for Hall of Fame Night.
